The J-1 Intern and Trainee Exchange Visitor Program gives international students and young professionals the chance to gain hands-on experience, enhance their skills, knowledge, and understanding of U.S. business practices and culture, through structured, guided training in their chosen academic or career fields. Program lengths range from three weeks to 18 months, depending on the field. The goal is for participants to return home after completing the program and use their new skills, knowledge, and global experience to benefit their careers, local communities, and country.
